he I68 Practical Pistol Course is a concealment-focused, scenario-driven course designed to bridge the gap between foundational skills and real-world application. Successful completion of the I68 Pistol Fundamentals Course is required. While students train from concealment using their everyday carry setup, the true focus of this course is understanding how the body and mind perform under stress—and learning how to manage it.
Training begins with a brief review of safety fundamentals, core shooting principles, and efficient drawing from concealment to confirm standards. From there, instruction centers on the four principles of defensive pistol use: cognitive assessment of a situation, effective access to the firearm, accurate shot placement, and distinguishing threats from non-threats.
Students are placed into structured, decision-driven scenarios that introduce cognitive and physiological stress. These scenarios allow participants to experience real stress responses, followed by guided coaching on stress-mitigation techniques to complete critical defensive tasks. Instruction emphasizes safe and efficient garment manipulation, situational awareness, threat identification, and accurate shot placement—applied under pressure.
This course is designed for I68 Pistol Fundamentals graduates who are ready to move beyond static drills and develop the ability to think, decide, and perform from concealment in realistic, high-stress environments.
