The I68 Family Firearm Sustainment Course is a hands-on maintenance and education course designed to teach proper cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and function checks for pistols and rifles. This course focuses on reliability, safety, and long-term performance—ensuring your firearm is maintained to the same standard it is trained with.

I68 Family Firearm Sustainment Course Includes:

• Review of firearm safety fundamentals

• Safe clearing procedures and maintenance protocols

• Field stripping pistols and rifles

• Proper cleaning of barrels, actions, and critical components

• Inspection of wear points and common failure areas

• Correct lubrication methods (what to oil, what not to oil, and why)

• Reassembly and function checks

Instruction is deliberate, detailed, and instructor-led to ensure each student leaves confident in maintaining their firearm correctly.

Length:

• Half-Day Course

• Classroom / Bench Instruction: 2–3 hours

Live Fire:

• None

Ammunition:

• Not required

Client’s Required Equipment

• Unloaded firearm(s) to be cleaned

• Pistols and/or rifles

• Eye protection

• Disposable gloves (recommended)

Cleaning Kits:

• Students may bring their own cleaning kit or

• A cleaning kit can be provided if needed and taken home after the course

Note: No live ammunition is permitted in the classroom or cleaning area.

Additional Information

• Cleaning kits provided are yours to keep

• This course is I68 Family members only

• Parents and youth may attend together when approved

Prerequisite

• I68 Pistol Fundamentals Course (or instructor approval)
