I68 Youth Firearms & Safety Course
50 ROUNDS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS COURSE
Training begins with a course overview and a detailed review of firearm safety rules. Instructors ensure all students and parents understand expectations, range procedures, and proper use of eye and ear protection before any firearms are handled.
Course Length: 3 Hours
Instructor Ratio: 1 Instructor per 3 Students (1:3)
This low student-to-instructor ratio ensures close supervision, personalized coaching, and a strong emphasis on safety at all times.
Pistol Training
Students are introduced to pistols through a step-by-step progression:
Safety & Familiarization
Pistol components and function
Safe loading and unloading procedures
Chamber checks and basic handling
Dry-fire practice to reinforce safe mechanics
Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting
Stance and grip
Sight alignment and sight picture
Trigger control and follow-through
Breath control
Live-Fire Pistol Training
Students progress to live fire under close supervision, starting with controlled drills focused on:
Muzzle awareness and movement
Single-round engagements
Grip, stance, and sight alignment
Trigger manipulation
As skills develop, students are introduced to:
Slide-lock reloads
Basic malfunction recognition and correction
All drills are designed to reinforce safe handling, confidence, and consistency.
Tactical Rifle Training (Semi-Automatic Rifles)
Students receive structured instruction on semi-automatic rifles, including:
Rifle Safety & Familiarization
Rifle components and operation
Loading, clearing, and use of the safety selector
Dry-fire practice to establish safe handling habits
Fundamentals of Rifle Shooting
Stance and rifle control
Sight alignment and hold-over concepts
Trigger control and follow-through
Live-Fire Rifle Training
Live-fire drills introduce:
Low-ready and depressed-muzzle positions
Slow, deliberate fire to reinforce accuracy
Controlled pairs
Tactical magazine reloads
Instruction emphasizes safe movement, muzzle discipline, and proper mechanics throughout.
Personally Owned Firearms
Students who bring personally owned firearms will have the opportunity to train with their own equipment under instructor supervision. The same safety standards and fundamentals apply.
If the firearm is hunting-oriented, instructors may adjust distances and introduce steel targets where appropriate.
Students without personal firearms will continue training with I68-provided firearms.
Additional skills may be introduced based on student experience and instructor assessment.
I68 provides pistols, tactical rifles, and ammunition for course instruction.
If a student brings a personal firearm for additional training, they must provide the ammunition for that firearm.
All Sales Are Final
If client cancels 30 days prior, payment can be applied to a future class.
